Care Group Leader Checkbox, Profile Screen

Help -- Training -- Explanations -- Hints

This area of the Profile screen features the "Manager Checkboxes" that are used to grant special privileges or special access to certain people.

There is a [Checkboxes Help ?] button narrative for this section of the screen next to the "Manager Checkboxes Options" label.

** Note: If you haven't already read that general "Help Text" narrative for these options, you should go read it first because it does provide some helpful information before you look at any of the specific "Manager Checkboxes" in detail.

The following is a description of the specific "Care Group Leader" Checkbox and indicates what purpose this Checkbox serves.

"Care Group Leader" Checkbox

If you give a person the "Care Group Leader" privilege, they will receive "Care Group Reminder Notices" from the system. There is a section in the Configuration File for the MasterAdmin or SysAdmin to turn on the "Care Group Leader Reminder" option.

You can have the reminders sent once a week, or once a month; and you can put the text of the reminder message in the box provided for that purpose in the Configuration File.

The following describes the purpose of the "Care Group Leader" Checkbox.

Why do we need to grant "Care Group Leader" permissions to individuals?

Some classes or groups may be large enough to subdivide them into smaller "Care Groups". People in the smaller group will get to know each other better, can have closer fellowship with one another, can pray specifically for one another and share burdens, etc.

If you want groups to continue growing, your MemberLink® Support Team recommends that any class or group reaching a size of 20 be subdivided into Care Groups. The full class or group still meets regularly together, but the Care Groups can function during the intervals in-between. A 50-member class or group, for example, can be divided into five 10-member Care Groups.

Each Care Group should be assigned a Care Group Leader. The leader will be one of that Care Group's members, and will take charge of communication and outreach for his or her group. The leader's assignment is to keep the Care Group together and informed. The system-generated reminder notices are intended for the Care Group Leaders to remind them to follow-up and contact their Care Groups on a regular basis.

How do we designate people to receive "Care Group Leader" reminder notices?

In the Administrative module, on the right side of the Profile screen, there is an area with "Manager Checkboxes." These Checkboxes are only visible to the MasterAdmin and SysAdmin, and can only be manipulated by them.

Using the "Care Group Leader" Checkbox, you can indicate in this person's profile that they are a Care Group Leader and thus should receive the reminder notices. The default when you enter a new person into the system is that this Checkbox will not be checked and this person will not be designated as a Care Group Leader. The MasterAdmin or SysAdmin has to click this Checkbox to authorize it.

You can designate as many people as you desire to be Care Group Leaders.

** Note: Turning on the "Care Group Leader" Checkbox for any person will not work unless you have turned on the "Care Group Leader Reminder" option in the Configuration File. Care Group Leaders will not receive the reminder notices if the Configuration option is turned off.
