Treat Person as Non-Member, Profile Screen

Help -- Training -- Explanations -- Hints

When adding a "new member/user" contact record, you can immediately disable use by that person. To do so, turn on the Checkbox labeled, "Treat Person as Non-Member".

Turning on this Checkbox has the same effect as going into a person's Profile screen and clicking on the [Restrict This User] button and the [Ban This User] button.

This permits you to "Restrict" and "Ban" the user in one step while adding them. Otherwise, you have to add them, then update their Profile and click the appropriate buttons.

"Restrict This User" means:
- User will not appear in any emailing using the Email & Texting button
- User will not appear in the photo contact directory
- User will not be able to add or reply to Prayer Wall postings
- User will not be able to perform global configurations
- User will not appear in birthday / anniversary notifications

"Ban This User" means:
- All of the "Restrict This User", plus
- User cannot login to the Admin or Member Portal modules

Why use this Checkbox::

You may add people to your system who are not members. They may be prospects, and you want to add them to Sunday School class rosters because they attend regularly; or they may be vendor contacts or contacts of individuals at other churches, etc. You add them, but they are not "members" and you may not want them to login to the Member Portal module, use your Photo Contact Directory, and so forth.

When you click this Checkbox as you add these people, you eliminate needing the extra step of updating their Profile to restrict them and/or ban them. This just saves you some time.
