(HELP ?) Circles provide narratives on Training, Explanations, and Hints. These can be related to the overall screen, or to specific items on the screen.

This "Help" narrative is for the "REGISTRATION" Screen.

CheckinLink screens are comprised of five sections:

- Product Bar (wide horizontal bar across the top of the MemberLink screen)

- Operations Bar (narrow horizontal bar immediately under the Product Bar)

CheckinLink has the following Tabs on the Operations Bar: "View/Edit" Tab; "Registration" Tab; "Check-In" Tab; "Check-In Queue" Tab; "Check-Out" Tab; "Messaging" Tab; "Options" Tab; and "Logout" Tab.

- Information Bar (narrow horizontal bar immediately under the Operations Bar)

- Navigation Panel (vertical column area under the Information Bar on left side of screen)

- Display Panel (remainder of the screen, under the Information Bar and to the right of the Navigation Panel, and shows information in ROW/COLUMN Forms, DATA Forms, etc.)

1. Introduction to Registration Screen

This is the "REGISTRATION" Display Panel in the CheckinLink Module. You came here by clicking the Operations Bar [REGISTRATION] Tab.

2. Introduction to Display Panel:

A Child has to be "registered", which associates them with a Parent or Guardian, before they can be active in CheckinLink. The "Child Registration" process involves two Display Panels.

Screen 1 "" Select Parent/Guardian

This first Display Panel helps us start the Child Registration process. Here you select the Parent or Guardian for the Child you want to register.

If you change your mind and do not want to proceed, simply click the "BACK" Hyperlink on the Navigation Panel or click any of the Tabs on the Operations Bar.

To proceed with registering a Child, use the Parent/Guardian Name entry box. After you enter the first 3 letters of a name, a picklist of matching names will appear. Simply click one of the names to select that person as the Parent or Guardian and proceed to the next screen.

** Note 1: You may enter 3 characters of the person's first name or last name.

The person you are selecting to be Parent or Guardian must exist in the associated MemberLink system. On their Display Panel "PROFILE" Screen in MemberLink, the (NOT A CHILD) Radio Button must be selected (turned on).

Screen 2 "" Select & Assign Children

After clicking on a Parent/Guardian on the first Display Panel of the Child Registration process, the information related to that Parent/Guardian is displayed here on the left side of the second Display Panel. Follow the process below to associate Children with Parents or Guardians.

Step 1 "" Review Selection Data:

Review the data of the Parent/Guardian you selected. If you see any problems with it, you can go back to the associated MemberLink system and correct the person's record.

If you have selected the wrong person, you can simply click the "BACK" Hyperlink on the Navigation Panel to start again and select a different person.

If you have selected the correct person, and the data looks correct, please continue with Step 2.

Step 2 "" Preferred Contact Method:

The last piece of data displayed about the selected adult Parent or Guardian, at the bottom of the list on the left side of the Display Panel, is the Contact Method. Please review what is displayed, and if the preferred method has not be chosen yet or needs to be changed/updated, click the "SET PREFERRED CONTACT METHOD" Button and go to the Display Panel where the Contact Method can be selected or changed.

After returning from the "SET PREFERRED CONTACT METHOD" Display Panel, review again the setting being displayed at the bottom of list on the left side to make sure it is now correct. Once the preferred Contact Method is correct, please continue with Step 3.

Step 3 "" Assign a Child:

After the Parent/Guardian has been selected and the preferred Contact Method has been verified, the last thing to do is assign one or more Children to this adult.

At the right side of this "REGISTRATION" Display Panel, you will see a table for displaying Children assigned to this Parent/Guardian. The display table may be empty, if none have been assigned yet, or it may already have one or more Children displayed.

How do I assign a Child to a Parent?

Click the "SELECT CHILD TO ASSIGN TO THIS PARENT/GUARDIAN" Button. On that screen, use the Child Name entry box. After you enter the first 3 letters of a name, a picklist of matching names will appear. Simply click one of the names to select that person (Child) and go back to the "REGISTRATION" Display Panel.

** Note 2: You may enter 3 characters of the Child's first name or last name. You may continue entering more letters to further qualify the name if you prefer.

The person you are selecting to be a Child must exist in the associated MemberLink system. On their Display Panel "PROFILE" Screen in MemberLink, the (CHILD) Radio Button must be selected (turned on). If the person is not in MemberLink or not identified as a Child, their name will not appear as a selectable choice.

Upon returning to the "REGISTRATION" Display Panel, you will see the selected Child is now displayed in the table on the right side of the Display Panel.

How do I assign another Child to the same Parent?

Some families may have more than one Child to Check-In. You may be wondering after registering the first Child, what is the process for registering another Child.

To associate more than one Child with this Parent/Guardian, simply repeat the instructions above under the question, "How do I assign a Child to a Parent?" You can follow this process as many times as necessary until all the Children are assigned to the Parent.

How do I assign another Parent/Guardian to the same Child?

Many families will have more than one adult that can Check-In and Check-Out their Children. You may be wondering how to associate multiple Parents or Guardians with the Child or Children displayed in the table at the right side of the screen.

First, click the Checkbox in the "CHECK" Column for each Child that you want to have an additional Parent assigned.

Next, click the "ASSIGN ADDITIONAL PARENT/GUARDIAN TO CHECKED CHILDREN" Button. On the "ASSIGN ADDITIONAL PARENT/GUARDIAN" Display Panel, use the Parent/Guardian Name entry box. After you enter the first 3 letters of a name, a picklist of matching names will appear. Simply click one of the names to select that person as the additional Parent or Guardian.

You will see another confirmation screen, where information about this Parent or Guardian is displayed. Then click the "ADD THIS PARENT/GUARDIAN" Button and it goes back to the "REGISTRATION" Display Panel.

** Note 3: You may enter 3 characters of the person's first name or last name. You may continue entering more letters to further qualify the name if you prefer.

The person you are selecting to be the Additional Parent or Guardian must exist in the associated MemberLink system. On their Display Panel "PROFILE" Screen in MemberLink, the (NOT A CHILD) Radio Button must be selected (turned on).

You may repeat this process until all the Parents or Guardians are associated with the registered Child or Children.
